"As a first-time homebuyer, I was nervous about the entire process. Step by step, Joe made it easy and fun. His expertise in the Columbus real estate market is a tremendous asset. He is highly recommended!" - Nicolette Horan
"I wanted to say thank you again, so much, for all your hard work. I know that you really put a lot of time into this transaction and I really, really appreciate it. I'm so happy I got the house and it all worked out and I just wanted to say thanks again, you did a great job and i really appreciate it. I will put that on the survey when they send it to me.
If there is ever anything I can do for you, please don't hesitate to give me a call. I will refer every single person I know to you. I'm going to go get my dog and we're going to sit on the floor of our new house and have a glass of champaign. Thanks a lot Joe" -- Michael Mamp
The Lincoln Theater is Really getting some work done
November 30th, 2007 categories: Olde Towne East
While not a whole lot seems to be going on inside the theater, there is a whole lot going on outside. Today there must have been 6 giant city trucks all around the perimeter and up and down Long Street and the alley behind. I think the city is mostly still working on infrastructure issues. Meanwhile, one of the most visible changes are the digital “scoreboard” marquess that just went up — pictured here — on the east and west “short” sides.
Personally, I think that is the wrong move. The marquee had, in recent years, been updated and repaired and while the electronic marquee at the Palace seems to work fine, I’d love to see the historic marquee used, even if it means my tax dollars paying someone to stick up the letters every day.
The city is really putting a lot of eggs in the Bronzeville basket, without soliciting much in the way of ideas, concerns and other input from the local residents.

Hey, I am a senior history student at Appalachian State University, In boone North Carolina. for one of my classes, we have to conduct research on ANY thing we want that occurred w/in American History since reconstruction era. I was searching through old american newspapers and found a clipping about a theater that opened on East Long Street by a man named James Albert Jackson and his Partner James Williams 1928 in Columbus, Ohio. this intrigued me very much. Foremost, realizing what a racially disparate place Columbus was at this time I really wanted to know more about these men, how they did it? Were they native Ohio(ans?), or did they come from the south? Who performed there? how long did it last? How did the community respond? both white and black? I love the world of art, whatever form it may come…theatrical, musical, through cinema, paintings, literature. The creative aura has always enticed me, and I want to know about this theater. Then I came across this blog and realized it was this very theater that I read about in an old Cleveland Advocate from 1928…and so finally, after my very long-winded introduction, I’m wondering if you can tell me more about this beloved theater? Can you direct me to a local historian whom I can email? please let me know. Thanks for your time…Megan
