I blogged since 2002, in 2004, I had 17 of my 40+ closings as a social/online referral or 1st generation blog referral. I used the communities that were general to columbus on LiveJournal, AOL, + other places.

Just like AmSpirit, you gotta give first, and without direct expectation. I'd say that columbus.livejournal.com has yielded me 100k+ in commissions. Posting there w/openID may soon be possible, I dunno.

It took a lot more than that, and at the time, I was blogging ANYWAY, mostly book reviews, but the credibility from an obviously used site was part of it.

Because I'm in many states, I'm able to probably wring more dollars out of a worse blog than you are. But, I've learned wordpress, I've gained some subscribers @ tendayteam.com and I've gained some at my own site.

I'm not a PR 5 yet, but that'll come.
