The Demolition of Bronzeville

This could be a long and complicated post but I will try to be more general then specific.  Also, to be fair, It’s true that I haven’t contacted anyone at Second Baptist or Rehobeth Temple or Pilgrim Baptist or any of the other churches on the Near East Side to get their opinions or declarations […]

Do you have your Olde Towne East home for sale? Are you frustrated that they buyers seem to have dried up.  Me too.  Take a look at this map that details where the 8 homes were that sold last month on the Near East Side.

Home Tours - Olde Oaks and Olde Towne East

Yesterday was the Olde Towne East holiday tour of homes.  This year’s tour was focused up and down Long Street with Homes North of Broad.  It was a dismal day for a home tour, but people were enjoying themselves as they toured the historic Columbus Homes on tour.

The Lincoln Theater is Really getting some work done

While not a whole lot seems to be going on inside the theater, there is a whole lot going on outside.  Today there must have been 6 giant city trucks all around the perimeter and up and down Long Street and the alley behind.  I think the city is mostly still working on infrastructure issues.  […]

Fishy Flip?

When I was reviewing what sold last month in the Greater Olde Towne East area, I came across this listing that sold for $217,000.  That seemed a little high for the address, so I clicked over the auditor’s page and found this picture for that address.
Last month’s Seller paid $24,000 for the property in April […]

Oak Street to Become Columbus Community Reinvestment Area

I think it’s pretty odd that the city would declare only one street a CRA, but it’s not a bad idea with all the storefronts that exist on Oak.  I really believe that the future vibrancy and sustainability of the Olde Towne East area depends, in large part, on the viability of these storefronts being […]

Olde Towne East September Market Re-cap

I can almost say that nothing happened last month.
But, remember, when we’re talking about Columbus Neighborhoods, we’re talking about relatively small geographic locations.  Olde Towne East, The Short North, German Village, these are all just small areas a few square miles put together.   For the purposes of the blog and for conveying Real Estate Information […]
